I always liked taking photographs of the ground from an elevated position, especially aerial panoramas. On a plane, the task can be a little daunting… A lot to think about, like getting a good window seat without wing or engine obstruction, making sure the camera supported by a plane-based structure, and being lucky to find a clean smear-clear window that hasn’t deteriorated due to age and the effect of the elements. On a flight from Los Angeles to New York, I was lucky to board a brand new Airbus A320 jet, with the clearest window view. I had my camera gear onboard, and tried to make the best of this rare opportunity.
